The Davies family are back at home to celebrate the festive season. Everyone is here except Mark, who is late arriving from his workplace.

He just text me to say he's left work and should be here any minute now. Did you manage to get Sunday off work by the way?

Yeah, but I have to make up the hours another day.

I thought they'd at least give you the day off. Why do you need to make up the hours?

They're short-staffed at the moment, and it's always busy this time of year.

Natasha puts on some festive music and turns to look outside the window. She sees her husband Mark down the road, walking towards the house.
Natasha legt etwas festliche Musik auf und dreht sich zum Fenster hinaus. Sie sieht ihren Mann Mark auf der Straße, der auf das Haus zugeht.
Dad's here! I'll go and get the dinner ready.

Mark enters the house wearing a thick woolly jumper.

Thanks, but actually it's still cold outside with this on. And the pavements are very slippery.

Natasha
Not too bad, but I'm glad to be home.

Mark
Let's all sit at the table. Dinner's nearly ready!

The family sit at the table and enjoy a delicious meal together. While eating dessert, Ellie turns to look outside as her eyes light up.

The whole family turn to look out the window and notice the ground is already covered in a light dusting of snow.

Looks like I made it home just in time!

Once the family finish their meal, they head outside in the snow, not forgetting their woolly hats and scarfs.
Nachdem die Familie mit dem Essen fertig ist, gehen sie nach draußen in den Schnee, ohne ihre Wollmützen und Schals zu vergessen.
